What We Do

Founded at the end of 2024, Real Good AI is a 501c3 nonprofit for the modern world. AI is already changing lives. With your support, we can try to make those changes positive. 

We chose the name REAL GOOD AI for three reasons:

  1. The future needs AI that can empower without doing damage. We need AI that is REAL in that it is reliable and interpretable with knowledge of what it does and does not know

  2. We need AI to use its power for GOOD. AI should be a tool that enhances the lives and creativity of humans.

  3. Research is a serious business but that doesn’t mean we can’t all have fun while we do it. We hope you will have fun with us.

Our Mission

At REAL GOOD AI, we’re all about advancing the world using the power of AI to do good. We are using fundamental scientific research to solve difficult problems and to illuminate AI’s black box. We strive to make sure everyone can get in on new technology in a positive and productive way with practical advice on AI safety, privacy, and helpful information on emerging tools.
We are NOT building an AI model, just shaking up the usual research game, encouraging diverse ideas, and, most importantly, having a blast while making sure the future of AI is, well, REAL GOOD!

Real Good AI was founded by scientists and creators to celebrate science and computing in a way that protects and emboldens creativity. At our core, we value the human spirit and the creations that come from it. We see AI as a tool that can help with the remedial tasks and not a replacement for the things that make us human. We’re here doing real science to do real good for the world. If you believe in science exploration that doesn’t destroy the environment, displace impoverished communities, lead to the loss of livelihoods, research that is accurate and ethical, and art that is made by humans (not machines), you’ll find we have a lot in common. As an organization focused on the human experience we want to celebrate the AI wins that improve everyday life but in a conscious and equitable way.

As a crowdfunded research organization, we pursue research and directions that are important to all of us. We are not looking to make a profit so our information is completely free, open, and unbiased. Where else can you get information about AI not meant to make you buy something? Even universities keep education behind a pay wall. There are literally billions of dollars keeping this information locked away. We will fight for all of us.

Our Programs

  1. Partner Data Science Service so we can contribute to the brighter future that numerous nonprofits are working towards, with resources available to them for free.

  2. Research to support ethical AI development so that there are resources and people fighting for solving AI problems the right way rather than the profitable way.

  3. Resources to communicate AI best practices so the community can positively and safely interact with AI as it stands today.

  4. Empowering Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) in our community so the future will be bright for human creativity and future generations have the opportunity to get in on AI in a positive way.
