New Year, New Real Good Resolutions!

Can a Nonprofit have resolutions? Well… we didn’t wait for an answer and made them anyway so it’s too late to stop us.

Real Good AI’s Real Good New Year’s Resolutions!

• Resolution #1
  Broad Implementation of the AI Usage Rating System
  We are aggressive in our pursuit of this! All of our research and outreach efforts have told us that people REALLY want to see a system like this to help them navigate the wild wild west of AI. We think it will be so useful for us to have these nuanced conversations about how much AI is actually used in the content that people create. Stay tuned for more news in the coming weeks!

• Resolution #2
  Contributions to Science
  RGAI is a science nonprofit built by scientists, who happen to also be super creative, and we want to contribute to science as a whole. We have a couple pathways that we’re really excited about that are open right now. The first is the Seabed 2030 project Dr Mandy talked about a couple of weeks ago, check this video out if you haven't seen it! The general idea is to help contribute to the human knowledge of science, of what's going on in our universe with AI.
  The second is putting Gaussian process models where they don't belong. They're Dr Mandy’s favorite models, and it's working great so far! This idea that we can generate things and have exact attribution to where every single pixel came from and what it's borrowing from? Revolutionary idea! We’re excited to see it come to fruition!

The next two resolutions are gonna need you guys to help us accomplish them.

• Resolution #3
  More Community Projects
  None of this works without community and we want to show our appreciation by creating MORE opportunities to bring different areas of our community together! Here’s a sneak peak into the some of the events we have planned for 2026:

  • Summer Science Series: a full array of events centered around science education and the ways it impacts our daily lives

  • Children’s Book: We’ll be introducing our kids book focused on teaching elementary aged children about the importance of being cautious with AI and the best way to interact with it

  • AI Horror Stories by Humans: a virtual anthology competition for writers where the best stories will be read as a podcast in October for Halloween.

  • Full STEAM Ahead v2: We’re gonna take everything we learned in FSA v1 and apply it to next year’s fundraising event! Full STEAM Ahead is our flagship fundraiser and the best way to keep supporting us so we have the funds to keep doing cool things

• Resolution #4
  Social Media Outreach
  Thank you so much for watching our videos. We've been putting a lot of effort into the content because we think it's an important aspect of the Real Good AI mission. To go out and talk about AI and about everything we're doing so people can understand that AI isn’t all good or all bad, there is an in-between. We need people to be educated on how to interact with AI and how to talk about it. So we would love to see RGAI’s social media accounts reach 10,000 followers on every platform.

These are some huge goals, but we know it can be done. When it’s needed everyone can and will come together to make sure AI doesn’t ruin everything cause our leaders move like the Zootopia sloths. That’s the power of people!
